The aptly titled Pierre Jeanneret Armless Dining Chair referred as the “Student Chair” was widely used at the Panjab University in Chandigarh, India. The chair model has been sourced back to university housing known as ‘Hostel for Girls’ (1959) and ‘Hostel for Boys’ (1961) and was later catalogued under reference number PJ-SI-25B. This arm less chair has been constructed from solid teakwood and is characterized by its braided canework seat and back rest as well as the asymmetrical ‘V’ shaped legs. The slightly slanted backrest is attached to the seat with two sturdy supports at the bottom.
